More about our roots

Colton, a man whose roots ran deep in the heart of Texas, grew up amidst the serene beauty of Lake Travis. His family's ranch - Reveille Peak - was where he discovered his love for the outdoors and made countless memories. As a fifth-generation Aggie, it seemed destined that Colton would follow in his families footsteps and attend Texas A&M University, where he would find his place in the Corps of Cadets and many other Texas A&M traditions.

During high school, Colton's determination and passion led him to embrace a military scholarship, which lead him to join Squadron 21. It was there that he not only honed his leadership skills but also pursued his academic interests, earning an industrial engineering degree that would pave the way for his future. Upon commissioning into the Air Force as a pilot, he recently completed his fighter pilot training and will be flying the B-1 Bomber, aka “The Bone”.

Amidst his adventurous spirit, Colton remained grounded by his love for the Hill Country, a place that epitomized the essence of Texas. Whether it was the rugged landscape, the twang of red dirt beneath his boots, or the camaraderie of shaking dominoes with his friends and family, Colton found solace and a sense of belonging. His unwavering faith in Jesus anchored his values and guided his path, instilling in him the importance of humility, integrity, and service.

In this extraordinary journey through life, Colton embodies the spirit of a Texan, a devoted family man, and a servant to his nation.

Christi, a girl of many names, including Kissy, Kiss, Christina, and girl chris, grew up immersed in the vibrant heart of Dallas, surrounded by her loving family. Music constantly filled her home, with her grandparents and father playing guitars and serenading her since she was young. It was no surprise that she developed a passion for music, which led her to embrace the piano at a young age.

Attending Highland Park High School, Christi discovered her profound love for people, cherishing the connections she formed. Despite being raised in a family of devoted Longhorns (with a legacy spanning four generations) she followed her own path and chose to attend Texas A&M University. There, she pursued a degree in International Studies and earned a Graduate Certificate in Public Management, all while dedicating herself as a Young Life leader at Navasota High School.

Christi's spirit thrives when she gets the chance to dance, particularly with the lively two-step. Playing music, spending time with loved ones, and engaging in games that foster togetherness are among some of her favorite pastimes. Guided by her faith in Jesus, she hopes to reflect the gospel in every aspect of her life. She now works with Howell Financial Group as a financial professional for individuals, families, and small businesses. Christi's journey is sure to be a harmonious blend of passion, community, and a deep-rooted love for her family and the Lord.
